Carnegie Museum of Art Theater
The 2018 HAA Graduate Student Symposium keynote lecture will be hosted in the Carnegie Museum of Art Theater. The main entrance to the museum is on Forbes Avenue.

Humanities Center, Cathedral of Learning
The 2018 HAA Graduate Student Symposium will be hosted on the sixth floor room 602 of the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh. The main entrance to the library is on Schenley Drive. Most events will occur on the sixth floor of the Cathedral of Learning in the Humanities Center.

Getting Around
Public Transportation around Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh has an extensive bus system run by the Port Authority. The bus fare is $2.50. Please see their schedules and maps page for more information about getting around.
Uber and Lyft are also good options for getting around town.
Transportation From the Airport
There are multiple transportation options from the Pittsburgh International Airport to the city.
- Public Transportation from the airport to the Oakland neighborhood via the 28X Airport Flyer. This bus runs right by the hotel and dormitories.
- Taxis are available and usually run around $50-$60.
- Uber and Lyft are both available at the Airport. The cost is usually around $40-$50, depending upon surge pricing.
Parking
For attendees who prefer to drive, there are multiple parking options in Oakland near the conference accommodations and venue.

NOTE: The neighborhood of Oakland is very busy during business hours; this means the garages can sometimes fill up. Once you get a space we recommend you NOT move your car during the day. This is just a precautionary measure however.

Accommodations
Options for lodging while in Pittsburgh range from housing with current Pitt graduate students, or booking a room at a hotel nearby. Accepted presenters will have the opportunity to request to stay with a local graduate student, at no cost. For those who are interested in booking a room, the Hilton is the closest accommodation to the symposium.
